It's no fun being demoted

Poor sweet Carleigh-Mae. When we adopted this rescue pup seven-years-ago she was "Queen of the Manor." I even convinced Napp that we needed to splurge for Doggy-Day-Care (I kid you not) when I had to pull late nights at the office. Imagine her dismay when the first "Human-pup" entered her life nearly four years ago. It was hard enough on her that we moved from our Florida town home to a 500 sq ft apartment in Alexandria, VA, but adding competition to the mix was almost more than she could bear. She tried her best to ignore and avoid "Xyliepup,"but she was never mean nor snappish to her. Today, although I'm quite certain that Carleigh would never ever admit to this, the two are close friends. In fact, Carleigh will even humor Xylie on occasion by obeying a command. Not only that, Carleigh allows Xylie to dress her up, within reason of course. The picture above was taken after Xylie insisted that Carleigh was cold and sick and needed some special blankets.

Life in Summerville seems to agree with Carleigh. She has not had a seizure (she was diagnosed with epilepsy earlier this year) since we moved here and enjoys sunbathing on our new front porch.
