Today I took Xylie to a surprise class at "The Little Gym." It is a national franchise that offers gymnastic and other classes for kids. The first part of the thrill for Xylie was not knowing where she was going. All she knew is that she was going to go somewhere special just for her and that it was not Chuck E. Cheese.
When we pulled into the parking lot she asked me where we were and before I could answer she got a better view and screamed "Wow, are we going into that cool room just for me and little kids like me?" She still had no idea what she was to be doing, but she could tell it looked like a blast.
She had no problem following her teachers and joining the classroom. Zayden and I hung out in the waiting room where we could see her class. We both enjoyed watching her. A genuine smile was frozen on her sweet round face as she galloped, bounced, frolicked, and tumbled through the 60 minute session. I could tell that she was intimidated by some of the equipment, but by the end of the class she had tried everything.
The teachers were incredible. "The Little Gym" just opened in our neighborhood and they offered free trial classes this week. I really wish we had the budget room to enroll her in the 14 week program. However, they do have another class opening in January, so I think that should be a good time for her to start.
I think I had almost as much fun watching her as she did playing. If she does take the class in January, I will NOT forget the camera!

That sounds like a lot of fun! When I was growing up we had something along those lines and I used to love to go there. I would still love to go there! I am glad Xylie had so much fun.
I can't believe you forgot your camera! That would have been so fun to see. I miss those days. Maybe Xylie can teach me some new tricks next time you all come to visit!
