Millersburg PA

Since my Christmas post mentioned Millersburg, I thought I'd include a few more photos, facts, and links about the town. Above are two pictures of the Millersburg Gazebo that stands in the town square. The first one is recent and the second was taken in 1907 during Millersburg's Centennial Celebration.

  • Located 28 miles North of Harrisburg and along the historic Susquehanna River, Millersburg PA was founded in 1807 by Daniel Miller.
  • The majority of Millersburg's population can trace their roots to German Ancestry, most commonly referred to as Pennsylvania Dutch. Here is a Wikapedia PA Dutch link as well.
  • Millersburg is not known for diversity. According to a 2006 pollthe town of 2,467 people is composed of 97.7% caucasions. Which means that there only are about 30 people or so who represent minority races living in Millersburg.
  • Millersburg is home to the oldest operating Paddle Boat Ferry in the United States.
