My sweet party planner

As you've read on this blog before, Xylie wants to be a professional party-planner when she grows up. Her career aspirations will probably change at least 30 times between now and her senior year of college, but for the past 6 months she's had one occupational goal. Actually two--she told me the other day that first she wants to be a party planner and then a famous ice-skater...if those things do happen I bet it will be in the reverse order. Any way...after she finished watching her "GiGi, God's Little Princess" movie she started asking me some questions. Our conversation follows.

Xylie - "Mommy, would you like a birthday party like Gigi had?"

Me - "You mean a special breakfast party with you and daddy?"

Xylie - "Yes, and Zayden and with some of your big girl friends. And you can have lots a French toast because that's your favorite. " "And you can have apple juice or orange juice and some pupcakes too!" (She calls cupcakes pupcakes. She knows that Pupcake is the name of Strawberry Shortcake's dog and that the dessert is called a cupcake, but her little mind keeps confusing them.)

Me - "That sounds wonderful."

Xylie - "Thank you mommy, it will be very wonderful and you will be so excited. And you can wear a very special hat."

Isn't she just the sweetest? I don't need a single thing for my birthday, her desire to plan something for me at the tender age of 4 is a special gift in and of it's own. And I bet she does plan that party too! Yes, the food will be plastic, but so what...my little princess will prepare it all with love.
