Food Glorious Food

I made a simple dinner tonight: broiled steaks, whole-wheat orzo and green beans. My little skirt clad food critic was impressed. Here was her comment "Mommy, this is licoius, licious, licious (I guess it was so good the de disappeared)...I really love how the taste of the meat plays on my tongue!" Look out Bon Appetit!

I've noticed that a few of you have started to put your weekly menu on your blogs. I'm not sure if I'll do this weekly, but I do have our meals lined up for this week so I'll share.

Monday: Honey and Herb grilled Chicken Breasts, steamed broccoli and brown rice

Tuesday: Veal (actually it is pork loin) Parmesan served with Whole Grain pasta, peas

Wednesday: Ham and Bow Ties (It's a PA Dutch thing) and green beans

Thursday: Some type of homemade tomato and vegetable based soup with grilled cheese sandwiches

Friday: Tuscan Steaks, Couscous, and steamed veggies

OOOh, I'll be there on Thursday! ha ha Do you import your bow ties like I do? Whenever my dad comes to visit, I make him bring about 8 bags of bow ties because the kids and I love them so much. Farfalle just doesn't cut it...they have to be real egg noodles to work. I haven't had them with ham in a while, I think I'll pick some up when I go shopping this week. I make Chicken Pot Pie with them a lot, though....

No, we'll be using Farfalle. I never thought of importing! Did you ever have the homemade egg noodles with potpies? They are the best! Ohhh how I loved you calling it chicken pot pie. Everyone here gets so confused when what I refer to as pot pie is not in a pie. Do you like Chicken and waffles too?

I actually messed up the menu already so we had the pork last night and will be having the chicken tonight. But Wed and Thur should be the same. I may change out friday...not sure yet
