Dr. Phil Got it Right

This T-shirt cracks me up so I had to post it. I do not think any of my readers own such a shirt regardless of how much they may heart the former licensed counselor, but just in case I won't comment except to say that Clint and Stacey from "What Not to Wear" would so not approve.

I cannot remember the last time I watched Dr. Phil, but I need to give him kudos... he sometimes knows his stuff. According to my sister Maranda, Dr. Phil says that a healthy person should spend 1/2 the life of an ended relationship grieving that relationship. So if you are in a relationship for 20 years you should spend ten years grieving. Sounds like a lot of wasted time to me, but I guess it depends on the relationship and the stage of grief, plus I am using second hand information, and while Mer was talking to me so was Xylie...anyway, getting back on topic...

This information factors true considering Xylie's relationship with the stuff pig I posted about last week. For one hour she played with the piggy. For one hour the two frolicked, jumped, twirled, and balanced on the high beam. For one hour the love was intense. Parting with the Piggy was such bitter sorrow. She grieved an old testament type of grief. Garments were ripped, her body gnarled on the ground, and cries poured from her soul. King David would be proud. And how long did her grief last? 30 minutes. I kid you not. She mourned the loss of the relationship with the stuffed pink oinker for half the lifespan of aforementioned relationship. Thanks, Dr. Phil. You got it right!

Boy, I'm just glad there were no gnashing of teeth. That is when it REALLY gets ugly.

Teeth gnashing! Yes I knew I was forgetting something and was too lazy to look it up...no sackcloths were worn but yes, teeth were gnashed indeed. I must edit.
