On behalf of fathers of boys I would like to send this message to all the Mothers and Grandmothers of boys in the world. When our little boys are babies, we are willing to put up with all the cutsie little outfits that ya'll put them in, but by the time they reach 1 year, it's gotta stop. Please, no more yellow, no more ducks, no more cute little sailor outfits (unless, of course, its a pirate outfit). If you need help, here is a list of approved clothing themes:
- Camouflage
- Trucks
- Manly sports (no badminton, gymnastics, or figure skating)
- Dinosaurs
- Bugs (just the gross kind, not the cute kind)
- Construction equipment
- Outer space

Yeah Professor - I am with you. Lane was given clothing with purple dragon flys.....yep, that's right. PURPLE DRAGON FLYS. And they were not just a print, but stitched into the fabric. Yeah, because the tags had been removed, we re-gifted that to a GIRL. I saw her wear it - looked real cute on HER not my boy.
As far as gross bug go...I can handle cute spiders...but please...no roaches
Dkay: Would that have come from a relative of ours who will remain unnamed who gave our little guy a toy lion with a pink bow?
Angel: I don't know that I've ever seen clothes with a roach theme. I was thinking more along the lines of centipedes and worms.
I have to agree, although I didn't always feel this way. When I was pregnant with Sam I thought, no way am I just sticking to blue all the time. Borrring. So I bought up lots of green and yellow. But when I dressed him in these, it just wasn't right. Then I looked around my home at my decor and realized, hmmm, my favorite color seems to be blue. Good thing I have all boys - I don't really like pink that much. :)
Professor - you are right on target.......
