Apologies

X-Factor – Mommy is so sorry for not taking the “many, many, many, lots of many’s” pictures of you as requested at the VBS party. I wanted to and I had my camera ready, but every time I went to snap a picture, your baby brother went AWOL.

Z-Man – Mommy is very sorry that you were not permitted to play the beach ball game or participate in the hoola hoop contest at the party. It’s tough being a tiny tot with big dreams. Mommy needs to keep you safe and had I allowed you to dart in front of hip rolling kids getting their hoola on, it’s quite possible that we would have had to trade our party shoes for some hospital slippers.

Z-Man – Mommy did not know that a large Chick-Fil-A cow would be at the VBS party. .Mommy is sorry that you were traumatized when the friendly bovine tried to shake your hand. Your frightful scream still echoes in my consciousness.

Z-Man - Obviously, you will someday need therapy because your mommy messed up so many times in one day. Or perhaps you'll just have more character than most kids. Who knows. But Mommy is sorry from the depths of her heart that she tried cutting your hair on her own instead of taking you to the barber. I am glad you are too young to notice the uneven and nearly bald spots on your little head. And the fact that your head is shaved a little higher one on side than the other...well that just gives you a better chance for a Christian hip-hop career someday. I'm thinking about buying you a temporary tattoo for the spot. How about a red heart with "Mommy" in the middle?

To Both of My Children – I apologize now for the fact that you will someday inherit some disorganized photo albums. Mommy tried her hand in scrap booking. And you each have one book as a result. But one day you will both learn that there are many great hobbies in this world that will be loved my millions, but not by you. That’s how it is for Mommy and scrap booking. And that is OK. So please, accept the mismatched books of memories without condemnation.

To Scrap Booking Fans – Please know that my above comments are not in any way intended to cheapen your lovely craft. For you, scrap booking is easy and therapeutic, for me, it’s stressful and messy. Forgive me that I took out a large, empty, acid and lignin invaded photo album last night and filled it with four years worth of photos that were setting in my closet awaiting scrap books. The clutter and space issues got to me. It’s not that I don’t value archiving family memories. I do. That’s one reason why I blog. I also have gotten quite excited by digital scrap bookings. Now, that’s my kind of hobby. See, we’re really not that different after all.

To My Fellow Bloggers – I am so sorry that I have not visited your blogs as frequently as I have in the past. The last several weeks have been hectic. I promise to be back soon and be my usual, cheery, comment-leaving self.

To My Hips – I know I promised to swear off junk food this summer, but I did not anticipate my daughter winning cupcakes at the VBS party. Had I known that information, I would not have made an “unkeepable” promise.

I'm just getting back into the swing of things after returning from vacation...

This is a really cute post! So sorry about the trauma caused by the cow...LOL at the haircut...no worries about the scrapbooking (from an avid scrapbooker), your blog is a way cool way of tracking those memories.

Bwahahahahahahaha! How funny are you!!

I am jived by digital scrapbooking too! I just couldn't do the "manual" method anymore. I did it for 10 years, I think I did my part. LOL! Now I use shutterfly and create a beautiful scrapbook (of the entire year) in a week. Go figure! It's TRULY the first time I can say that technology took LESS TIME than manual.

The Tongginator is terrified of the Chic-Fil-A cow, too!

Clever post.

Girl, if I typed all my apologies to LaneBug I think cyberspace would crash!
Bug does not like the Chick-fil-A cow either.

You are adorable! I love to read your Blog as you are a wonderful writer. Keep up the good work.

I tried scrapbooking about 5 years ago and HATED it. However, a friend got me back into it and now it's fun. Don't give up on it totally. Wait a bit of time and then give it another try.

I do want to try digital scrapbooking too. I'm thinking that scanning my older pictures and doing a book with them would be easier than trying to scrapbook them by hand.
