After a fabulous experience at our church's Vacation Bible School last week, X-Factor decided that she wants more VBS.
"Mommy, can you please find more church Bible schools for me to go to?"
"Hmmm. I guess I could. Would you really like that?"
"YES!"
"Well, if I find any that allow you to come, you need to understand that it will be at another church. One you have never before visited."
"That will be so exciting!"
"And...you won't know anyone there, will that be OK by you?"
"Yep! I can just tell them my name and ask them 'what is your name?' and then I'll know them and have new friends."
"OK, well I'll look on line and see if there are any churches close by that have open enrollment for VBS."
"Oh Mommy, thank you!! This will be so very wonderful!!"
So, this week, X-Factor started VBS at a local Presbyterian church. She'll be "Surfing through the Scriptures" at their Beach Party. In two-weeks, she'll be attending VBS at a Methodist church. Both programs run extensive background checks on their teachers and other volunteers.
To be honest, it felt weird signing her in that first day. But her exuberance, smile and friendly demeanor were reassuring. She immediately befriended some classmates and her teacher.
Hopefully Athens will have an established home schoolers community. We're planning on home schooler starting this Fall, but my little extrovert is going to need lots of social opportunities.

SO cute that she wants to attend other VBS programs! She gets some social time and hopefully learns something more about Jesus in the process. Fun!
