Prologue--Because I've been told that it takes sass to pull off a short hair cut, I tried my best to pose with attitude for the pictures that will accompany this post...but do try not to pass this blog along to others because I just cannot handle all the modeling requests that will undoubtedly barrage me after these beauties are seen by fashion editors...yeah...and if you live in Arizona, I have some ocean front property to sell ya...
I spent years searching for a hair style that would compliment my baby fine tresses. The decades have been harsh my friends.
Before this year, my hair seemed to best behave in two styles: The Ponytail or the Blunt Bob. Whenever I tried to sway, my hair rebelled. It scoffed at being feathered. It boldly laughed when I tried to tease it "big," and when I dared perm it....oh....let's just say things got ugly.
Now, I like the blunt bob...I do, but after a few years, it gets old. I rotated lengths and played with colors, but still, the style tired.
But now, I have found a sassy new freedom with the "inverted" bob. Oh, how scared I was when I first contemplated this look...if you know me well at all, you know that I like my lines even. A stacked or inverted bob's trademark is lots of uneven layers.
So, I started slowly. I asked my stylist in SC to give me a basic blunt bob with a hint of layers in the back for some lift. However, this weekend, I confidently strode to the chair of my new stylist, Shamika, tilted my chin and proclaimed, "I'd like a short stacked bob with the front portion longer than the back. Lot's of lift."
Then, I started to loss my nerve..."Uhm, I mean if that is o.k. If you know, you think it will look right on me, and if I am you know, not too old for that look..."
Shamika smiled and said, "Girl, that would look great on you. Stacked bobs are perfect for fine hair and you have the perfect bone structure for that look and old...Hmph, don't you give me that kind of talk! "
I silently prayed that Shamika could deliver, because I already started to love her.
Fortunately, Shamika understood my hair and I loved the end result. It's easy to style and fun. The X-Factor excitedly greeted me at the door when I arrived home and said, "Mommy, you look so beautiful and fashionable!"
I love that girl.
And I love you too, that's why I added the "artistic" flair to the pix shot by Dr. N. No need to thank me, really.

You got the pob! The Posh Bob. I have been getting that cut, too. It looks great, Angela!
It looks very sassy!
Love the stacked bob! I always like how simple it is to not worry about the back - it takes care of itself :)
Looks great!:)
I'm a fellow inverted bob girl too, I love it
Yours is gorgeous too
xx
Your new haircut looks great--it pays to try something different every now and then. I love it and I loved the pictures!
Sassy! Shamicka knows her stuff. She is a keeper!
Ooooooh I like-y! I've been contemplating a new do, and your pics are inspiring! Except, my tresses are the OPPOSITE of baby fine. Coarse and thick with a tendency to curl and flip. I wonder what the POB would do for me? :)
Also, thank you for all your prayers for us over the past couple weeks. I can tell people are praying. I can feel it.
My very favorite hairstyle right now and it looks great on you! Mine has grown out some in the last few months, but this summer our hairstyles would've been twins. :) Excapt for the fact that my hair is so course and thick that my stylist has compared it to a horse's tail... Well, I guess we can't all have a Shamika.
I also think it is one of the best hair styles for mommy's becuase it is really easy. :)
You go, you sassy thing, you! It looks terrific! :)
Hope you are having a great weekend with your college friend!
:) K
