This past summer, my hair got a little too blond...so I went back to my natural color...although it keeps fading and won't stay that dark...
After I dyed my hair, X and I grabbed the camera for some clowning around fun.

Meet Brynley

On September 15, my amazing sister, Maranda, gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Brynley Elizabeth. Brynley has an older brother, Jack, who is not thrilled about having a new baby in his home...but we know he'll warm up soon...how can one not fall in love with someone so absolutely cute.

It was the Evening Before Kindergarten
Here are some cute pictures taken of the kids right before a school open house. X was sooo excited about starting kindergarten.
Here are cookies X and I made for her new teacher. We presented them at the open house the evening before the first day of school.

Mommy Daughter Sleep Over--A Monthly Event
The X Factor has a new bed...well, two new beds. It is a bed with a trundle bed underneath. Perfect for our new tradition...a monthly mommy daughter sleepover. We have had two so far, but here are pictures from our first one. It has been a blast. However, the troll sheets, which came from the bed (the bed was a very generous present from her Nannie), have been banned. At the last sleep over as I was getting ready to make the bed, X-Factor said "Mommy, can you please find other sheets and never ever again use those troll ones...they scare me...they are creepy, naked, and hair just should never look like that!"
So now the sheets are plain white...nothing scary about that. :-)

Question of the Day
At bedtime, X looked and me and earnestly asked: "Mommy, what is the future and how do I get there???"

Our New Home
Here are a few pictures of our new home. These were taken of the outside a few weeks after we moved in.

Our New Neighborhood
The X-Factor and I took turns taking pictures of our new neighborhood while on a walk a few weeks ago. The pix were taken in August...it is no longer short-sleeve weather here.

Catch Up
Ya'll...this last move has done me in...well not really but it has knocked my bloggy mojo completely out of whack. I have not been updating this blog and I have not been reading blogs...
What I have been doing instead is...
- Unpacking many boxes
- Searching Frantically for our Winter Coats that seem to have been lost in the move
- Decorating
- Getting a Kindergartener off to school every morning
- Making lots of wonderful new friends
- Keeping in touch with wonderful long-time friends
- Attending playgroups, MOPS meetings, and MomsClub events with Z-man
- Visiting our local library
- Taking long walks all over town
- Buying fresh fruits and veggies from local farmers
- Cleaning our large (to me) and old home
Oh and this past week, I've been busy recovering...I fell down our stairs...nine hard wooden ones. I did a number on my back and bottom, but fortunately broke no bones.
We are loving Marietta. It is a delightful town. The people are warm and friendly, the houses are old and charming, and I live on a brick street...how can I not love that?
X-Factor is loving Kindergarten. Z-Man still adores his big sister but is adjusting to her new routine. I promise to have some picture posts coming soon.

Happy Birthday Sister Sledge!
I'm not sure why my sister Maranda and I refer to each other as "Sister Sledge." It is something she started a few years ago and it stuck. Maranda is like that...funny and witty. She's also incredibly creative, a devoted mother and wife, and a sweet and loving person.
I am truly blessed to have known her for 31 years!
Happy birthday little Sister Sledge! I love you.

Mommy & Daddy's "Play Date"
X-Factor was quite entertaining during our dinner conversation this evening. Mrs. N was telling her the story of how she and Dr. N first met. After describing their first encounter, she continued, "and then...." X-Factor then finished the sentence, "you went on a play date?" That's right little one, Mommy and Daddy went on a play date.
Later, Dr. N was complaining about the tomato sauce stains on her shirt. X-Factor countered, "I saw on TV, you can get this Kaboom, and you put some in the wash, and it comes out all white." Maybe you've been watching too much TV, little one. Hmmm? On second thought, have you considered a career as a pitchman?
