My mom always celebrated St. Patrick's Day by serving us some green grub. Usually it was green milk or green mashed potatoes. My girl loves her greens...she's the only four-year-old I know who would prefer a green salad to chicken nuggets. Last night she finally felt well enough to eat a lite dinner and what did she request for her first meal after nursing a fever for two days? Peas! Actually peas and cottage cheese. The other night she ate three servings of broccoli with her dinner; and when I serve green beans, watch out! She'll sneak them off her plate while we're praying. That said, I won't have any trouble with green food preparation on St. Patrick's Day, but I'd like to do something fun as well. So I did some research and came up with a few interesting links and recipe ideas. Enjoy.
This is a 1-2-3 Shamrock Shake. The recipe and many more St. Patrick's Day Themes food can be found at Kraft Foods.
Does that not give you the heebie-geebies? But little boys may enjoy the green wigglers.
