It's only 9:27 am but there is lots to tell. Anything exciting you ask? No. Nothing major. No more moves or babies that we know of or are planning for that matter and I didn't grow an extra arm or anything cool (or freaky) like that. But I do have enough material for a somewhat interesting post.
Germs, Germs, Nasty Germs
A cold. Just what a man recovering from back surgery needs! Napp's tired body is fighting a cold at the same time it's repairing muscle, tissue, bone matter, and nerve damage.
Napp's not the only sick body in town. A high fever tackled Xylie and the sweet girl is down for the count. Currently, she's snoozing on the sofa bed.
Little Brother...Bummed
Little Z-man is bummed about his big sister's soporific demeanor. Normally Xylie under a snuggly pile of blankets equals a fun game of peek-a-boo, so imagine the babe's pout laden disappointment when his big sister returned his hearty laughter with a somber cry.
Conversations with a nit-wit
This is an actual conversation Napp and I had this morning regarding a gargantuan bag of generic Cheerios.
Napp: Angel, did you put the O's in another container?
Me: No, I lost them.
Napp: (perplexed) What do you mean you lost them? How can you loose a big bag of cereal?
Me: I'm not sure.
Napp: Did it fall in the trash can?
Me: No, I checked the trash can.
Napp: Maybe it fell in the trash can before you checked it? Angel, you can't loose a bag of O's. No one can just loose a bag of O's.
Me: All I can tell you is that I poured some for Zayden and returned them to the counter. Or at least thought I returned them to the counter. When I went to put them away, they were gone.
Napp: Did you put it away in the wrong spot?
Me: I already checked the pantry, the refrigerator, all the cabinets, underneath the sink, and the dish washer. I'm not sure where it can be. All I know is that there has to be a big bag half full of O's around here somewhere.
Napp: Sigh.
Cover your ears
All in all, Zayden is a laid-back fella. His zestful laughter can be heard around the apartment and he is quite content playing alone. However, he has developed a habit so annoying, so soul piercing, that I just don't know what to do about it. He's a screamer. Now, Xylie's a screamer too, but a different type of screamer. She's a "if you don't give into my demands I will emit a cry so loud and pitiful that all who pass within a 50 mile radius will assume I'm being tortured" screamer.
Zayden's another type of screamer. He's the "If I want your attention I'm going to summon you with a stream of tawdry, vociferous, system shocking shrieks sure to rattle your consciousness and sever your sanity" screamer. It's a rough stage folks. Rough, rough stage.
My Mom's Knee
The saga that began two months ago continues. My mom is scheduled to have another surgery today to evacuate more infection from her knee. After she heals from this surgery she will need a complete knee replacement.
A little about me
I'm starting to get serious about losing this baby weight that I am still carrying from Zayden and probably a little from Xylie as well. I cannot fit into my clothing and I'm so over maternity items. I'm hoping to drop some pounds and shed some inches this Spring as well as tone up. My slender friend Melinda passed on some super cute Anne Taylor skirts and capri's to me before we moved and my goal is to be able to wear them this summer.
Well, unless you'd like me to share about the laundry, dishes, bathroom cleanup, etc. that I shall take on today I will leave you with a Thursday Thirteen.
Thirteen People Who I Think Need a Blog
(If you are reading this and didn't make my list, don't let that stop you from blogging. I had to stop at 13 names so I only listed the people I thought I'd have a chance of encouraging.)
1) Julie Herrick - Julie is an amazing writer with fabulous insight and experience.
2) My sister Maranda - With a baby like Jack how can you not blog?
3) Gayle - My Stepmother is an awesome photographer and good storyteller. And Crystal and Nik are far too crazy busy to have blogs so Gayle's blog can keep us posted on the Millers and the Kings.
4) Rebecca Hodge - My sweet friend Rebecca is an amazing woman of faith. She has a great wit and gentle heart. She also has an incredible marriage testimony.
5) Rising Real Estate Star Jerry Dugan - Jerry and his wife Olivia are friends from Corpus. Jerry is great about making and keeping contacts and I think he'd enjoy blogging plus it would help his business.
6) Karen Borrero - Karen is a fun, sweet Southern belle type mommy, wife and Christian woman. She is a great writer and conversationalist and I know a blog by her would be an entertaining read, plus we'd get to see more pictures of Sophie.
7) Heidi Tait - Heidi is one of my very best friends from Houghton. I love and miss her and think she would be great at blogging. She's very real and creative.
8) Sarah - Sarah is one of my most honest and treasured friends and also one from college. She has a neat dry wit and humor and tells some good stories.
9) Giselle Maish - You've seen Kate and Bella, now you should get to know their mommy. Giselle is a homemaker extraordinary. She has a slew of great ideas she could share plus lots of fun stories and pictures about her girls and hubby.
10) Megan Evans - Meg is another college friend and was instrumental in my moving to Orlando 12 years ago. She home schools two of her three children and is an organizing genius. Plus she's a great writer and fantastic editor.
11) John and Casandra Wheeler - John and Casandra are wonderful friends to us. They are also always going on fun adventures and once hiked the AP trail!
12) Paul and Rebecca Ballowe - When you have a new baby, you need a blog. Nuff said.
13) Kent and Yuko Muhling - Yuko and I have been friends since my Orlando days. She's from Japan and currently, she and her husband Kent along with their two children and bun in the oven are missionaries in her home country. They have amazing stories and testimonies to share.
So there you have it...let's see if I have any takers.
