Xylie had an emotional day and handled it with the stride of a big girl. We decided to allow our four-year-old critic to stay up an hour later and watch American Idol. As many of you know, she is a fan of Kristy-Lee Cook and Brooke White, but Kristy is her very favorite. Is there a four-year-old girl on the planet who wouldn't look up to a pretty young lady who loves horses?
She really didn't have much to say during the first few performances.
After Kristy sang, Xylie clapped her hands and without coaching said the following: "I told you! If she could find the right singer song she will not be in the bottom three!" Then the judges took their turns and Pumpkindoodle silenced her enthusiasm until Simon made his positive remarks at which time Xylie exclaimed a boisterous "YEAH!!!! WOOO-HOOO!"
When David Lee took the stage Xylie had some thoughts that I am not sure anyone else would echo...."The song is kinda crunchy, I don't like that sound of music."
While Brooke was performing Xylie came close to me for a hug and said "This song makes me miss Hopee." After the "three" judged Brooke, Xylie dishearteningly responded..."Oh no, I am afraid my other favorite will be in the bottom three."

Ha ha ha! Had to laugh at the "... sounds crunchy..." part! David Cook is my personal fave (doesn't hurt that I used to live in Blue Springs, his hometown).
