Bella Ballerina - Fro Me to You

Before I share with you the story of the picture below, I must tell you that one of my very favorite blogs is We Are that Family. Kristen, is a marvelous writer, who is honest, and as my Texas friends would say "So Cotton-Pickin' Funny." Not only that, she's a blogger who truly cares and inspires to make a difference in the lives of her readers. She's brightened many of my days with her witty and heartwarming posts. That said, let me now introduce you to "From Me to You." It is Kristen's weekly blog carnival where memories are posted in photographs. It can be memories old or new.
Well, here I am at five-years of age poised pretty for my first and only dance recital. If you know me, you know that a knack for rhythm did not get imposed into my DNA. After a year of tapping and about two classes of baton twirling, I hung up my tutu because my classes interfered with watching Mork and Mindy. Yes, tis true, and yes, I have felt shame about my decision throughout the years, but I've finally forgiven myself...I was five after all and truth is, I could have taken dance classes until I was 18 and I'd still stumble over the Electric Slide at weddings.

I do, however, fondly remember my dance teacher, Miss Trudy and her two lovely daughters. Our recital was a Wizard of Oz theme. My mom likes to tell the story that at the recital, although I was not very coordinated, I was the only child who remembered each and every motion. Rule following, it's been my way of life for years.

Oh, aren't you darling??
I never took dance lessons. I too do not have rhythm. Plus, I think I was too much of a tomboy to ever get interested in it.
Thanks for sharing the picture. I will definitely check out her blog!

You are adorable! Both then and now. Love the sparkles. My girls would be so into that outfit, even now!

And thanks for the sweet comment about my blog. I'm just all 'ablush standing here in the kitchen, not feeling all that remarkable. Until I read your words.

Thanks for playing along.

Btw, your link doesn't go directly to your 'fro post. Just wanted everyone else to get to see your great picture!

So cute and sweet. You are lovely. I was never graceful enough for my mom to consider dance. But when the blinds are all down, I crank up my iPod and dance to my heart's content!

How funny....I also posted me in a tutu. The tutu interfered with my tomboy lifestyle. Oh well. I outgrew that too.

How very cute! My post today is about dancing, too; not ballet, but square dancing!

I loved the picture. What a great idea. I lived in a town where ballet wasn't offered but I was bound and determined to be a dancer! So I joined "Poms" in highschool and did summer camps and stuff. When I turned 18, I tried out for the Cardinals Cheerleaders for the professional football team in AZ. 800 of us showed up that day but only 30 would get a spot. Somehow, I made it after about 10 hours of strenous dancing and memorizing routines. Long story short, I quit about a few months later because it really wasn't for me. But I do know the dream of a little girl who wants to be a dancer!

What a sweet little ballerina! Don't feel bad, I have no rhythm either...

I was a competitive dancer until I turned 14 and my teacher left to work on Broadway. At that point, I gave up dance forever to be in the Marching Band. Talk about a stretch. LOL I still get mad when I think about it, and I have even looked into adult hip-hop classes recently, but I would rather pay for Hannah to be in dance.
Your picture is so cute. I have one very similar.
