My Boy's A Walkin'

Little Z-man has taken a series of wobbly steps today. I haven't taken any pictures, because I am too busy holding my arms open wide. Seriously, I could sit on our floor for hours, arms outstretched, catching my boy as he toddles toward me and lunges his head toward my shoulder. The look of pride and accomplishment on his face is pure gold and the cheers of his big sister add to its luster.

We had a really fun day.

We went to MOPS this morning and the rain was slamming the ground. Pumpkindoodle was thankful for the opportunity to wear her new rain coat and boots. MOPS was sweet and sour. The sour was knowing it would be my last meeting here in SC. The sweet was reflecting on the abundance of love I was shown in such a short amount of time. I am so blessed.

After MOPS, Z-man and I took a nice long nap while the Professor and Pumpkindoodle went to his office and then out shopping.

Since Sunday is so busy, we went out to dinner tonight. We went to Mo's. It's a Fast Foodish Tex-Mex place. We took a walk after dinner and Xylie and I did some browsing at the Dress Barn. Ohhh, how I love dresses. I would wear dresses all summer long if I could. There were quite a few cute numbers I day- dreamed about while we were looking. Would I look good in black and Kelly green I wonder? I was in the middle of a brief fantasy about being awarded a $1,000 shopping spree (they were having a big sale so I could get at least 20 dresses for a grand...not that I would ever again spend that much money on clothing for myself...that is why I'd have to win a gc) for being the millionth person to walk through the doors when a saleslady approached us. She she said her name was Onjah and offered her assistance. PD piped up "Hi, Onjah, my name is Pumpkindoodle (only she said her real name) and this is my mommy. We're having mother's day early. We're just looking. We won't be making a purchase." I swear...I don't remember ever uttering that phrase in her presence, but before we entered the store I did say "we're not going to purchase anything we're just going to look."

I cracked up. I let out a belly laugh right in front of a flabbergasted, yet humored Onjah.

On the drive home, N. said that he thought it strange how many resident's at our apartment complex park near the mail kiosk and get their mail and then drive home. I confessed that I do that sometimes because it can be difficult to maneuver with kids. N replied that he sees mostly young singles do this and our little rhyming girl chirps. "Yes Mommy, he sees singles not bingles!"

When we got home I gave the kids a bath while The Professor prepared dessert. He and PD picked out a chocolate cake at the grocery store. Both cutie pies are sleeping in their beds and my big cutie pie is snoozing in his recliner.

Thanks for caring enough to read about my day.

I cannot wait for Abigail to take those first steps! She gets so nervous and just buckles her knees. She'll be 14 months in a couple weeks. My sweet baby will be toddling before I know it and then I'll wish she was back to crawling!

Anyway, your day sounded fantastic and what PD said to the sales lady was "slap-your-knee and laugh until you're blue in the face" funny!

Such fun when the baby turns into a toddler!!

Better start eating your Wheaties every morning! I suspect he's gonna keep you hopping! :-)
