I Am Legend
Since I only watch T.V. when my children are sleeping, and then with TIVO (which means no commercials) I'm not up on movie previews. Usually, that's fine by me, because too often previews spoil the movie.
Tonight, we watched I Am Legend, and I do wish I had been privy to the pythonic Horror/Zombie creature component to the film. That knowledge may have prevented me from screaming out loud. Fortunately, none of the zombies spat or blew his nose, so I held it together.
Since it was not a straight horror flick and starred one of my favorite actors, I'll stick my thumb up for this picture....not high-in-the-sky-up, because watching flesh-eating zombies leap through a desolate NYC nighttime sky does not do much to invoke pleasant dreams...but up and slightly waving.
Here's what I liked:
- The acting
- The pacing
- The special effects
- The yearning for human contact
- The spiritual aspect
What I didn't like:
- Seeing a destroyed NYC. I know this was based on a book, but after 9/11 I still have a difficult time watching movies where a future ground zero is in NYC.
- Flesh seeking/eating zombies
- Lab experiments.
Our next netflick is Enchanted? Anyone know if PD is old enough to see this one? And in case you were wondering, Enchanted was my pick and I Am Legend, N's.
