With a preschooler in the house, I occasionally find myself watching TV with her. You've already seen X-factor's favorites. For some shows, this experience is less painful than others. Here is my list of the least annoying kid shows, in order of preference:
- Veggietales. This would actually belong on a "non-annoying kid shows" list, but since it
would be the only show on the list, there wouldn't be much point. I look forward to watching these when a new one comes out. The characters are hilarious. I particularly like "Silly-songs with Larry." - Bindi the Jungle Girl. At least I learn something about animals in the process.
- Wordgirl. Some of the humor in this show causes me to laugh out loud at times.
- Between the Lions. Some of the silliness and cultural references (Gewayne's World instead of Wayne's World) make it slightly bearable.
- Diego. Occasionally, I learn something about an obscure rain forest animal that I never heard of. (Diego, if you read this blog, let me apologize in advance--your cousin could appear on my upcoming "Top 5: Most Annoying Kid Shows" list.)

I would give a shout out to World World, which Dr. N has also laughed out loud while watching, and Super Why...And of course, I love Mr. Rogers and don't think he is at all annoying, but many parents including my own hubbers disagree
The Johnson's LOVE, absolutely LOVE Veggie Tales!!! They are so cute and funny. I'm with you Dr. N - that is the only show that is not annoying.
There are a couple of others Bug watches that I find to be tolerable - Little Einsteins (I can not believe it!! He picked this line up from the show)and Sesame Street. I am talking about the old school Sesame Street shows NOT Elmo's World.
Sorry Mrs. N - Mr. Rogers is lame in my book.
Oh DKAY, you stab my Mr. Rogers loving heart. OK, I get that there are some hokey things in his show, but that man loved children and had such a passion for showing them that they were loved and special. He actually had a profound impact on my life.
"Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends" is one of my favorites..er, Noah's favorites. They are a spider family that had adopted other buggies like a dragonfly and a bedbug. They touch on taking care of neighbors, whether they are nice or not, keeping your neighborhood nice and tidy, and when the little buggies misbehave,*horrors* they actually have consequences! I don't know how others feel about it but I...er uh, Noah just loves it!
Sorry kiddo - you know I love you dearly - but I can't change my mind. The Dude is just not my type.
I think maybe he is just too soft spoken and laid back for me. Hmmm...yes, maybe that is it.
Since my comments are being moderated, I'll let you decide if you want to post this or not. Mr. Rogers is from Pittsburgh and before the YMCA became co-ed he used to swim in the nude every morning there. Morning radio quiz shows are very informative!!
There have been lots of vicious Mr. Rogers rumors circ. for year. Dr. N. even heard that Mr. R was a coke dealer at one time. I am hoping the nude swimming one is just a joke as well...but...
I think the Backyardigans is awesome. Their musical harmonies are the bomb.
