What is up with this week???

Perhaps X-factor is my good luck charm, because this sure has not been a good week. First my toe, then the creepy ice-cream sharing guy at Big Lots and now.... car trouble.

I went to Sears for a routine oil change and the mechanic discovered a screw stuck in the inside of one tires and a broken metal spiral thingy. I don't actually think he used the technical term metal spiral thingy, but he showed me the damage and that's the image that stuck. Apparently, my tire can blow at any minute. The really bad news...it will cost $448 to fix. I had no choice at that moment, I had to drive home. My cell phone is not working, so I could not call Dr. N at work and I didn't have that kind of money on me.

I was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania and Central Pennsylvanians do not calculate distance in miles, they calculate in time. This week, I need to take Z-man to the pediatrician and his office is about 15 minutes from our place. So that would be a 1/2 hour of driving. The Sears is a good 20-25 minutes from my place...so total, that would be an hour of driving a car with a tire that could blow at any given moment...ugh.

I am so sorry about all your troubles. Brian and I are headed out of town on Thursday morning. If you would like, we can bring your our Jetta Wednesday night so you can use it the rest of the week. Just let me know. It isn't a problem.
I am not trying to scare you, but my dad worked in the legal department at Michelin as a liaison between the company and the lawyers (he now does training for upper management, but thathas nothing to do with this). . .DO NOT drive anymore on that tire. He has told me some things he has seen from wrecks b/c of blown tires.

I'm sorry you are having such a rough week.
Have you called around about your tire? Geralds or Walmart might be a little less expensive.
I'm enjoying our Scrabble games, although it is a little embarrassing for you to see how bad my Scrabble skills are. :)
