(X-Factor--excited about the great job she did making her bed solo)
Are all 4-year- old's naturally postmodern, or just mine? That may sound like a rhetorical question, but it's not. Having significant experience with only one 4-year-old, I really don't know the answer.
For X-factor, truth is a flexible concept. If she doesn't know the answer to a question, she just makes one up, then insists that the made up answer is now the correct one, and I should accept it as well. For instance, she has been learning sign language. Sometimes, if she forgets a sign, or hasn't learned a sign for a word, she'll just make one up. This is only one example. Her postmodernist tendencies crop up in other ways as well.
If I sound worried about this development, I'm really not. She is only 4, and I suspect that this is a stage she will grow out of. I see it as a teaching opportunity more than anything. I'm curious though if other parents have observed this in their preschoolers.

She sounds like my brother! He's grown so he doesn't make up answers... Well not as much anyway. My daughter is A LOT like him so I am expecting her to start doing that soon!
Out of three children my daughter is the only one that does the same thing. She is five now but has been doing it since she could talk!! She is quite comical sometimes because when she gets it in her head that something is one way you cannot convince her otherwise. The positive is she already is learning how to stand strong in her convictions!!
